EasyJet offers flights between Akureyri and London next winter
British airline easyJet has announced that it will start direct flights between Akureyri Airport and Gatwick Airport in London next winter. The first flight will be on October 31st 2023. There will be two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays until March 2024. Sigrún Björk Jakobsdóttir, CEO of Isavia Regional Airports, welcomes easyJet´s decision.
Extreme weather conditions could affect flights on Tuesday and Wednesday
Flights to and from Keflavik Airport and some regional airports in Iceland might be affected by extreme weather conditions on Tuesday May 23rd and Wednesday May 24th 2023. Passengers are advised to monitor flight schedules, weather forecasts and news of weather.
Isavia and NIB Sign Loan Agreement for Keflavik Airport Expansion
Isavia ohf. and Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) have signed a 10-year loan agreement of EUR 50 million to finance the construction of the Keflavik International Airport expansion, which involves the construction of the new East Wing. The loan agreement was signed on Tuesday May 16, 2023.
