The objective of the Fund is to support the development of new flight routes to Iceland and to enable regular international flights through the international airports at Akureyri and Egilsstaðir. The support has been advertised by the government of Industry and Finance.
In addition to the above ISAVIA has a three-year discount scheme for the two airports:
- Year 1: 100% discount on landing and passenger charges
- Year 2: 90% discount on landing and passenger charges
- Year 3: 75% discount on landing and passenger charges
