451 thousand guests in January

This year is off to a good start and travellers continue to move through Keflavík Airport. 451,190 guests made their way through the airport in January 2024.

The busiest day of the month was January 2nd, with 22,611 guests moving through the airport.

A total of 20 airlines, both international and Icelandic, flew to 61 different destinations. The most popular destinations were London, Copenhagen, New York, Manchester, and Paris.

Departures of Icelanders were about 37 thousand in January.

According to numbers from the Icelandic Tourist Board the departures of foreign guests from the country via KEF were 131,000. Majority of all departures were British citizens or 21%, followed by US citizen with 19% of all departures. In third place were German citizens, then Dutch, followed by Chinese citizens.
