The company’s operations are divided into two divisions at Keflavik Airport responsible for its core activities: Commercial & Airport Development and Service & Operation. There are two support divisions besides the CEO Office: Finance & Human Resources and Digital Development & IT. The heads of the operational and support divisions comprise the Executive Board together with the CEO.

Sveinbjörn Indriðason took an economics degree at the University of Iceland in 1998. He worked at the Icelandic Investment Bank in 1998-1999 and in Icelandair’s risk management unit in 1999-2005. He served as FL Group’s CFO in 2005-2008 and as COO/CFO of the software developer Clara from 2011. He was Isavia's Director of Finance from 2013 until he was hired as Isavia's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in June 2019.

The CEO is responsible for the management of all day-to-day activities of the company in accordance with the Board’s policy and instructions. Day-to-day activities do not include extraordinary measures or measures of major importance. The Managing Director has decision-making powers over all operational and financial affairs of the company and oversees its assets. The Managing Director reports to the Board on the company’s activities and performance at Board meetings and is answerable to the Board for all day-to-day operations and for full compliance with the company’s Articles of Association and laws and regulations.

Anna Björk Bjarnadóttir


Anna Björk Bjarnadóttir has a degree in Sport Sciences from NIH, Oslo and the Hungarian University of Physical education (HUPE), as well as a degree in Leadership and Marketing from TDC, DIEU/Mannaz and Wharton Business School. In 2018-2020, Bjarnadóttir was Executive Director of Consulting and Custom Solutions at Advania. From 2013-2018, she was CEO and consultant at Expectus. She worked for Síminn (Iceland Telecom) for eight years, where she held various positions e.g. EVP of Residential Market and CTIO. In 2001-2004, she was head of Customer Care at TDC Telecommunications. Anna Björk Bjarnadóttir joined Isavia in 2020 as Chief Service and Operations Officer (CSOO).

Service & Operation handles safety management, airport security, passenger service, airside operations and tower control.

Bjarni Örn Kærnested


Bjarni Örn Kærnested holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Reykjavík University and an MBA from Waseda University, Japan. Bjarni has been Director of IT Operations at Össur since 2019, handling the finances and operations of the IT Department and Össur’s international project office. He was previously Director of Central Solutions at Origo and Director of Arion Bank’s IT Department, where he was involved in shaping and developing the bank’s digital path. He started work as Chief Digital Development and IT Officer in 2022.

Digital Development & IT is responsible for the operation of information technology and digital development.

Elísabet Sverrisdóttir


Elísabet Sverrisdóttir holds a B.A. degree in Literature from the University of Iceland, as well as a degree an MS degree in Human Resource Management from the same school and APME in Project Management from the University of Reykjavík. From 2006 to 2017, she worked in human resources consulting and recruitment at the consulting company Hagvangur.
Elísabet was hired as a human resources consultant to Isavia in 2017, was the company's human resources manager from 2019, and in 2021 she took over as assistant director.

Guðmundur Daði Rúnarsson


Guðmundur Daði Rúnarsson took an MSc degree in engineering management at the Technical University of Denmark in 2010. In 2007-2011, he served as a Project Engineer in the Information and Technical division of Iceland Express. He was appointed Manager of Terminal Operations at the Leifur Eiriksson Air Terminal in 2011, later becoming Deputy Terminal Director. 2016-2019 he held the post of Technical and Infrastructure Director for Keflavik Airport. In 2019, due to organizational changes, Guðmundur took up the position of Chief Commercial and Airport Development Officer (CCDO).

Commercial & Airport Development handles airlines & route development, commercial & marketing, operation of infrastructure & real estate and airport development & construction.


Ingibjörg Arnarsdóttir holds a Cand. Oecon. degree in economics and business administration from the University of Iceland, with a focus on auditing, and a master’s degree in finance from Cass Business School / City University in London. During 2016 to 2020, Ingibjörg was employed as the Director of Finance, Human Resources and Project Management at the Iceland Banks’ Data Centre (Reiknistofa Bankanna) and during the years 2008 to 2016 as the Director of Finance and Management. Later as Director of Management and Human Resources at Valitor. In 2020, she accepted the position of Chief Finance Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer (CFO/CHRO).

Finance & Human Resources is responsible for HR functions, planning & analysis, cash & risk management, accounting & settlement, law and procurement.
