Impact of Air Traffic Controller strikes

The Icelandic Air Traffic Controller Association has announced two separate industrial actions for air traffic controllers in the Keflavik Airport tower taking place on the 18th of December and on the 20th of December from 04:00 – 10:00 GMT resulting in no flights in or out of Keflavik Airport during that time, with exemption for Search and Rescue flights, ambulance flights and flights for the Icelandic Coast Guard.

Passengers who have flight during this period are advised to monitor for information from their airlines or check for arrival and departure information on the Keflavik Airport website.

Talks on a new contract between The Icelandic Air Traffic Controller Association (FÍF) and The Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise (SA) – on behalf of Isavia ANS, Isavia ohf. and Isavia Regional Airports – are still ongoing at The Office of the State Conciliation and Mediation Officer.
