Increased cooperation due to the spread of Novel Coronavirus

Isavia, the operator of Keflavik International Airport, has started cooperative consultation with the Chief Epidemiologist, the Directorate of Health and the Civil Protection Department to coordinate response to the increased spread of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

The Novel Coronavirus is a serious lung infection. The origin of the virus appears to be mainly in the Wuhan city of China. A large number of people infected have died. The virus has been diagnosed in Europe.

No specifice response plan has as yet been activated at the airport due to the spread of the coronavirus. The work that has been started is however related first and foremost to coordination and increase cooperation between Isavia, the Chief Epidemiologist, the Directorate of Health and the Civil Protection Department. Passengers will bee asked if they have been to Wuhan City in China in the last 14 days or if they have come in contact with people who have been there in the last 14 days.
