Meeting of Isavia and the TSA

Meeting of Isavia and the TSA

Wednesday, February 19, Sveinbjörn Indriðason, CEO of Isavia met with David P. Pekoske, the Administrator of TSA, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, and Jeffrey Ross Gunter, the U.S. Ambassador to Iceland. The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the mutual interests of Iceland and the United States in terms of airport operations and air transport. The importance of good cooperation between Isavia and TSA, as well as the possibilities of further cooperation, were also discussed.

“This was a productive meeting where we exchanged our views on the most important topics and reviewed the good cooperation we have had for many years,” Indriðason said after the meeting. “I was particularly pleased to find that while security is always a top priority, where we have a mutual vision on further cooperation, TSA also finds it important to take advantage of the business opportunities between the two nations and emphasized further support in that area.”

David P. Pekoske, Administrator of TSA, was in Iceland on an official visit. During his time in Iceland, he visited Isavia and other stakeholders in tourism and export as well as representatives from the ministries for Foreign Affairs and Transport.
