No passenger flights through Keflavik airport from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am

Due to industrial action, Keflavik Airport will be limited to ambulance and emergency flights only between 9pm and 7 am.  The reason is that air traffic controllers at the airport are currently in a wage negotiations and as a part of their actions in the dispute, they have announced a ban on overtime work at the airport.  As the two air traffic controllers who were supposed to be on duty tonight have reported illness, the ban prohibits other controllers to relief their duty.

No passenger flights will commence between 9pm and 7am.  This action will affect a total of 24 flights in this period, as many flights are scheduled tonight to and from Europe as well as a number of flights between North-America and Europe scheduled tomorrow morning. Furthermore, this will have significant effect on the airlines flight plans going forward.

Passengers are advised to monitor arrivals and departures on their airline’s websites or the website of Keflavik Airport:  https://www.isavia.is/en/keflavik-airport.
