Passengers Advised of Possible Delays in Travel to and from Airports due to Council of Europe Summit

The Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe will be held in Reykjavík on May 16-17, 2023. Police in Iceland have advised of the fact that traffic delays can be expected throughout the capital area due to transportation of delegations to and from Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik Airport during these days, with the most widespread effects taking place in the afternoon of Tuesday May 16th and Wednesday May 17th.

All passengers travelling during that time via those two airports are encouraged to leave for the airport earlier than usual, so they have enough time to spare in case of traffic delays. The trip to and from the airports might take longer than usual in case of traffic delays.

The main impact on Reykjanesbraut highway is between 14:00 and 17:00 on Tuesday May 16th and between noon and 15:00 on Wednesday May 17th.

More information can be found on the Police website, the Government of Iceland website and Visit Iceland.
