RIFF's best Icelandic short films at KEF Airport

Reykjavík International Film Festival, RIFF, takes place from 28th of September – 8th of October 2023. RIFF is celebrated in various locations in Reykjavík, and this year the festival will also take place at Keflavík Airport. Ten Icelandic short films will be displayed at the departure hall of the airport.

On the occasion of RIFF‘s twentieth edition, ten short films who have all been chosen as Best Icelandic Short Film at RIFF over the past decade, will be showcased at the airport. This includes the multiple award-winning short film Whale Valley by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson, Danish Film Award Nominated short film A Painter by Hlynur Pálmason, and Academy Award Nominated short film Yes-People by Gísli Darri Halldórsson. Guests of the airport can see Icelandic short films, some of whom have gained international success and received accolades at well-known film festivals.

On the second floor of the south building near the border control, a cozy space is available for guests to sit down, enjoy, and experience RIFF at the airport.

For those who enjoy reflecting on new European films, meeting directors, participating in discussions, and enjoying films from all over the world, RIFF offers an exciting and diverse international film program. Now guests of Keflavík Airport can let cinema magic take them to unexpected places on their way abroad.

Have a happy International Film Festival in Reykjavík!
