UN Sustainable Development Goals flag campaign

On September 25, 2023, eight years have passed since the UN Sustainable Development Goals were adopted. The global goals include a call for international cooperation to promote well-being and make the world a better place by 2030. The 17 UN Global Goals are supported by 169 targets and 232 indicators, enabling progress to be prioritised and tracked.

Isavia shows their support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by raising an SDG flag at Keflavik Airport on 25th of September 2023. This is the first time in Iceland that the SDG FLag Day is held.

SDG Flag Day aims to be a reminder of the importance of the Global Goals and for companies, institutions, non-profit organizations, schools, and municipalities worldwide to show their commitment to the Global Goals and the required actions

Isavia adheres to four of the United Nations’ Global Goals in the company‘s  policy, which are Global Goals:

8 Decent Work and Economic Growth

9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

13 Climate Action

17 Partnerships for the goals

In addition, the company also works with other Global Goals in its support policies, as they form one whole.

Isavia set itself objectives relating to social responsibility each year. The objectives are both long and short term. Objectives and related improvement projects were selected with reference to the nature and strategyof the company, comments from external stakeholders and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related government priorities.
